Quem é Ligia Amadio, maestra que subverte o mundo machista da regência
Primeira titular mulher à frente da Sinfônica de Minas Gerais, ela também está à frente de um grupo feminino de regentes

Corriam os primeiros anos da década de 1980. Na Cidade Universitária da Universidade de São Paulo, a então estudante da Politécnica Ligia Amadio deu uma carona para uma amiga, também aluna de engenharia, que faria uma avaliação para entrar no coral universitário. Quando chegaram ao local do teste, a regente da formação musical insistiu para que Amadio também tentasse uma vaga, como conta Naief Haddad para a Folhapress.
Ela titubeou, mas acabou se arriscando e foi aprovada. A partir daí, a música foi reconquistando o espaço que havia tido na sua infância - com cinco anos, fascinada pelo órgão de tubos da igreja Santo Antonio do Pari, na região central de São Paulo, ela pediu aos pais para estudar piano.
Amadio concluiu o curso da Poli, mas jamais atuou como engenheira. Estudou regência na Universidade Estadual de Campinas e, em seguida, aprimorou-se em dezenas de outros cursos no Brasil e no exterior.
Quatro décadas depois do alerta de que sua vocação estava distante dos números, ela enfrenta um dos maiores desafios da carreira. Desde fevereiro deste ano, está à frente da Sinfônica de Minas Gerais (OSMG), fundada em 1976, com o objetivo de torná-la uma das principais orquestras do País.
Em sua história de quase meio século, a OSMG já recebeu algumas regentes convidadas, mas Amadio é a primeira a assumir o posto de titular, um pioneirismo com o qual está bem habituada.

“The Brazilian conductor Ligia Amadio was the first woman to win a ward in 30 years at the Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting, in 1997. She won the first prize at the II Latin-American Competition for Conducting in Santiago, Chile, in March 1998. She has received the prize “Best Conductor of the Year” in Brazil, awarded by APCA (São Paulo Association of Critics of Art) in 2001, conducting the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (OSESP). In 2012 she was distinguished again as “Best Conductor” by the Carlos Gomes Award, in Brazil, among another prizes.”
